Customers have 11 days left to take advantage of Irving Oil’s
Capped Price Program
Saint John, NB — Atlantic Canadians will have one less thing to worry about this winter under an innovative program being offered by Irving Oil - a home heating price protection plan for residents of Atlantic Canada.
Irving is the first energy company to offer a price protection plan in three Atlantic Provinces. The program protects customers from rising prices by capping their heating oil price and promising customers the lower price if prices fall. The program was piloted first in Nova Scotia and recently became available to Irving home heating oil customers in New Brunswick and parts of Newfoundland and Labrador.
“This program brings the best of both worlds to our home heating customers,” said Omer Fournier, director of Irving’s Residential & Commercial Energy Services. “We’re making it easy for customers to cap a price for heating oil this winter. If home heating oil prices go down, these customers will benefit by paying the lower price. When home heating prices go up, these customers are protected. Either way, they benefit.”
In the winter of 2002, heating oil prices were as high as 70 cents per litre and Irving customers who took advantage of the cap program in Nova Scotia saved hundreds of dollars, with a locked-in price of $0.49 per litre.
As part of the program, customers pay a $35 fee to have their home heating oil price protected for the rest of heating season (through May 31, 2004). Customers must sign up by October 31, 2003 to take advantage of the capped price.
