Motorists are Cruisin’ in to Irving Oil to Win
SAINT JOHN, NB — When Karen Pike Farrell heard that she won a Bombardier Sportster LE boat from Irving Mainway she simply didn’t believe it was true.

“I didn’t believe it for the first week and a half,” said Farrell, of Marystown, NL. “Actually, I waited until someone called me to tell me that I really won. I thought it was too easy. I was waiting for the punch line.”

Every Irving Mainway location in Eastern Canada and New England has awarded hundreds of instant prizes as part of Irving’s Cruisin’ to Win contest, which began June 2, 2003 and continues through September 1, 2003 or while game tickets last. One out of 10 customers who plays Irving’s Cruisin’ to Win game will win an instant prize such as coffee, potato chips, chocolate bars, soda and more.

Farrell, the mother of two young girls, is among the first three lucky customers awarded major Cruisin’ to Win prizes recently.

“I go to the Irving Mainway every day of the week because it’s so convenient for greeting cards, fresh milk, pop and water on the way to soccer practice,” Farrell said. “It’s right on the highway on the way to where I am going.”

The Cruisin’ to Win contest is ongoing at all Irving Mainways and Big Stop locations in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

"This contest is a great reward to all our loyal customers across Atlantic Canada and New England and introduces our Irving Mainway stores to the large number of tourists who travel throughout our region during the summer months,” said Katherine Caprio, sales and promotions coordinator for Irving Oil. “We want to make it simple and easy for people to have fun and win.”

There are three ways customers can win:

1. Enter to Win- Each month a prize will be awarded at each Irving Mainway. Customers can sign up at any Irving Mainway and put their ballot in the drawing box to win mountain boards, kayaks, and mountain bikes.
2. Collect to Win- If customers collect all the stickers in a module on their collector card, they win the prize shown. Prizes include 1 Regency 24-foot Deluxe RV, 3 Bombardier Sportster LE 14-foot Boats, 15 Bombardier Sea-Doo GTI, 750 Cooler On Wheels, 2,500 Emergency Light Tool Kits.
3. Instant Win- If customers lift up both stickers and the panel beneath says, “ You’ve Won,” then the customer wins the prize listed.

“I said to the Irving Mainway employee, ‘I just put the stickers on, that’s all I have to do?’ and he said, ‘That’s all you have to do,’” Farrell said. “Actually, it was quite nice.”

Other recent Cruisin’ to Win winners include David Hopper, of Colepitts Settlement, New Brunswick, and Aubrey Snow, of Clarke’s Beach, NL. Both Hopper and Snow won a Bombardier Sea Doo GTI.

Irving Oil guarantees there will be a winner of the Regency RV.

“If the RV is not won via the collect and win contest we will give it away as a reward to our loyal customers,” Caprio said. “We will draw a winner from the entry ballots that we have received throughout the summer."

The Contest is open to all legal residents of Canada (except residents of the province of Quebec) and all legal residents of the USA, who have reached the age of majority, as of Game Start Date, in the province or state in which they reside.
