Fairfield, ME – Ashley Peirce of Albion, Maine recently drove away from the Irving Big Stop in a new, charcoal gray Ford Mustang convertible, the lucky winner of Irving Oil’s 2006 “Cruisin’ To Win” Early Bird prize giveaway.

 

Peirce had just celebrated her first wedding anniversary when she received an unexpected phone call from Irving telling her that she had won a new Ford Mustang.

 

“I was in shock,” said Peirce, 21. “I didn’t believe them. I’ve always wanted a Mustang.”  Peirce’s husband said he was also excited about the new car and has been hinting around about driving it.

Peirce entered the contest at the Mainway convenience store on Main Street in Fairfield, Maine, and her winning ticket was picked a few days later on July 17, just three days after her first wedding anniversary. She was able to choose the color and style of her Mustang, which Irving purchased from Quirk Ford in Augusta, Maine.

 

 “We are thrilled to kick off our fourth consecutive year of the Cruisin’ To Win promotion, and we couldn’t be happier to award our first major prize,” said Randi Turban, sales and promotions coordinator at Irving. "This contest is a great reward to all our loyal customers across Atlantic Canada and New England, and introduces our Irving Mainway and Bluecanoe stores to the large number of tourists who travel throughout our region during the summer months.”

 

One out of every 11 customers who play Irving’s Cruisin’ To Win game will win instant prizes such as coffee, snacks, chocolate bars, and soft drinks. Cruisin’ To Win has more than $2 million in prizes available to be won this year.

 

This year’s grand prize is a 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid and free Irving gas for three years, a prize worth more than $35,000. There is still time for customers to win other great prizes as well, including Sea-Doos, iPod Shuffles, Samsung Digital Cameras and iWay GPS Systems.

 

Over 500 Irving locations in Atlantic Canada and New England have awarded thousands of instant prizes as part of Irving’s Cruisin’ To Win contest during the past four years. This year’s Cruisin’ To Win contest began June 26, 2006 and continues through September 10 or while game tickets last.
