Newest Irving Big Stop opens its doors in Grand Falls
New site will employ 120 people

Grand Falls, NB - The newest Irving Big Stop, featuring “The Back Forty”, a 138-seat restaurant, opens in Grand Falls this Thursday, June 23rd at 5:00 pm. The store will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will also offer customers a diesel and gasoline service area and the company’s new convenience store offering, Bluecanoe.

“Our newest Big Stop has something for every customer,” says Doug Myles, senior operations manager with Irving. “The amenities available for professional drivers at our new Grand Falls Big Stop, coupled with our Bluecanoe store offerings, create a friendly and memorable shopping experience for our customers.”

“Whether they are shopping for local souvenirs, fueling their vehicle, enjoying a freshly-baked muffin or a meal in our restaurant, both local residents and travelers will be delighted by the panoramic view of the local farmlands, the clean and friendly environment, superior care from our people, and of course our exceptionally clean washrooms. Grand Falls/Saint André has a fantastic history and we are proud to introduce the first Bluecanoe in Northern New Brunswick.”

The store will also feature a lounge area for professional truck drivers, complete with showers, a large screen television, comfortable seating and a wide range of products and services. Irving is also offering Grand Falls customers an exciting and distinctive new look and enhanced product offerings with its new Bluecanoe store. The Back Forty restaurant offers customers a comfortable “heritage-farm” atmosphere, complete with historical photographs from the Grand Falls/Saint André area.

“We’re continuing to evolve our product mix, responding to our customers interest in fresh fruit, made-to-order deli items, and low-carb wraps, as well as baked-on-the-premises muffins and breads,” says Doug. “We are focusing on expanding what we offer to our customers, and we expect our bold new store design will appeal to a broader family audience.”

Customers are invited to come in and experience all the new store has to offer this Thursday evening and meet store’s franchisees, Terry and Paula Thibodeau. The site will celebrate its formal grand opening in August, when customers and neighbours will be invited to take part in the celebration.
