Paul Browning

Paul Browning joined Irving Oil in 2013 as President and CEO. He also serves on the Irving Oil Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Irving Oil in Canada, Paul worked in the United States, Europe, and Mexico.  He brings extensive global leadership experience from the energy industry. He joined Irving Oil from General Electric, where he was President & CEO of the Thermal Products Division of GE Power & Water in Schenectady, NY

Prior to joining GE, Paul worked at Caterpillar Corp., including roles as Managing Director, Caterpillar Motoren, based in Kiel, Germany and Vice President, Turbomachinery Products in Caterpillar’s Solar Turbines division in San Diego, California.

Paul began his professional career in 1990 as a Research Engineer at General Electric’s Global Research Center in Niskayuna, NY, where he participated in research related to the power generation, aviation, oil & gas, medical imaging and lighting business of GE.

He serves as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Committee at Carnegie Mellon University for the School of Engineering.

Paul earned a B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.S. in Materials Engineering from Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute.

Paul and his wife Janel have two children and are relocating to the Saint John area.
