NB Skilled Trades And Technologies Competitors Go For Gold

Skills Canada NB competitions set stage for national event

FREDERICTON, NB — This spring, competition in skilled trades and technologies are underway across New Brunswick. Over the next four weeks, high-school students and post-secondary students will be competing to win gold, silver, or bronze in their chosen trade or technology event. Winners will move on to the Canadian Skills Competition in Edmonton, Alberta. 

“This competition is one of the best opportunities the students have for challenging themselves and demonstrating their capabilities,” said Luc Morin of Skills Canada NB. “The top students from across the province will be selected to participate as members of Team New Brunswick in the Skills Canada National Competition. At Nationals, the students will be competing with peers from across Canada – it’s an exciting venue for students to showcase their hard work, improve their trade skills and gain exposure to potential employment opportunities.”

Irving Oil, whose operations involve 12 trades ranging from pipefitting to electrical, is a proud sponsor of Skills Canada NB events, which showcases the next generation of the very best students in skilled trades and technologies.
