MONTAGUE, PE — After provincial tournament action that ended just days ago, the 36 team Atlantic Canada Bantam AAA Hockey league is down to the final four Provincial Champions, who are now in PEI for the 22nd Annual Irving Oil Challenge Cup in Montague.

Representing Prince Edward Island is provincial champion team the Mid-Isle Irving Oil Matrix. The host team will be the Kings County Irving Oil Kings. Team New Brunswick is the North West Irving Oil Bulls. 2012 Challenge Cup Champions, the Halifax Irving Oil ACCEL Hawks, will return to represent Nova Scotia, and Team Newfoundland & Labrador is the St. John’s Irving Oil Ice Breakers.

“This has been an incredible journey for our team and representing our province on our home turf will be a highlight of a lifetime for many of these players,” said Cory Parsons, Coach of the Mid-Isle Irving Oil Matrix. “We’re excited to be part of such an exciting event that showcases the best hockey in its class in Atlantic Canada.”

“Having participated in last year's Irving Oil Challenge Cup as hosts, we are very excited to be back again this year as Provincial Champions,” said Kevin Mitchell, Coach of the Halifax Irving Oil ACCEL Hawks. “Our players have worked very hard to get here and we know that Irving Oil and the Host Committee have been working just as hard to make this a first class event!"

This year’s Irving Oil Challenge Cup will be hosted in Montague from March 21 to March 24, at the Cavendish Wellness Farms Centre. Irving Oil has supported every team in the Atlantic Bantam AAA hockey league on an annual basis for over 20 years, supporting over 23,000 young athletes in communities across the region.

This year, fans can enter to win an NHL weekend getaway for four to Montreal by going to and voting for their favorite Atlantic province. Every vote also counts towards a donation in support of youth sport throughout Atlantic Canada.
