Irving Oil's First Ever Fuel The Care Day To Help Local Families With Hospital Travel Costs
The One-Day Event is Expected to Raise Over $300,000
SAINT JOHN, NB — On Friday, October 9, Irving Oil will host its first-ever Fuel the Care Day - donating $1 from every fill-up to its Fuel the Care program. With the help of customers, Irving Oil hopes to raise over $300,000 for families in communities across Quebec, Atlantic Canada and New England.
Fuel the Care provides fuel gift cards, through a network of partner hospitals, to caregivers who must frequently travel to provide children with medical care. Since 2002, Fuel the Care has helped over 50,000 families, allowing kids to be kids and parents to focus on what’s important – their child’s health.
“Fuel the Care Day means more families will be helped with their hospital travel costs than ever before”, says Sarah Irving, Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer for Irving Oil. “We couldn’t do this without the support of our customers - we’d like to thank them for supporting Irving Oil and we hope to see them at the pumps tomorrow!”
On Friday, October 9, hundreds of Irving Oil team members will be volunteering their time to pump gas, wash windshields and raise awareness of Fuel the Care Day at Irving Oil retail locations across Atlantic Canada, New England and Quebec. Customers are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to help local families simply by filling-up at any Irving Oil location.
