What is Fuel the Care?

Through partnerships with hospitals in Atlantic Canada, New England and Quebec, Irving Oil’s Fuel the Care program has provided fuel gift cards to more than 65,000 families travelling to receive medical care for their child.

How can families apply to benefit from the program?

Families can contact the Social Work departments at our partner hospitals. Click here for a complete list.

How can customers contribute?

Every time a customer visits an Irving Oil location, chooses Irving Energy to heat their homes or enjoys a homestyle meal at our Irving Big Stop Restaurant, they’re helping support the Fuel the Care program, which is supported directly by Irving Oil.

If the customer is visiting our sites in Halifax, NS, or Pembroke, MA, they can also support Fuel the Care by filling up at a Fuel the Care Pump. More information about the pumps and their specific locations is available here.

What’s the difference between Fuel the Care and the Fuel the Care Pump?

Every time you visit an Irving Oil location, you support our Fuel the Care Program – just by getting your fuel. One cent from every litre purchased at our designated pumps throughout the Halifax area will be donated to the IWK Foundation to support families travelling to receive medical care for their child. At our Care Pump at The Irving in Pembroke, Massachusetts, four cents from every gallon purchased will be donated to the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center.

Are we accepting cash donations?
