Irving Oil announces President & CEO leadership transition
SAINT JOHN, NB – Irving Oil has announced that its President & CEO Jeff Matthews will retire from the company on November 1, 2026, following a 32-year career. Having served as President & CEO since January 2025, Jeff Matthews’ previous roles in the organization include Chair of Irving Oil’s Executive Management Committee, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Business Development Officer.
“Jeff Matthews has dedicated more than three decades to helping build and strengthen our company,” said Maureen Kempston-Darkes, Lead Director of Irving Oil’s Board of Directors. “His leadership, integrity and commitment to our employees, customers and communities have positioned the company for continued success. On behalf of the Board, I thank him for his service and wish him every success in retirement.”

The Irving Oil Board of Directors has completed an extensive global search and has selected the company’s next President & CEO, to be announced at a later date.
