Background
Emily grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick, and studied Business at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. Initially uncertain about her career direction, she embraced the opportunity to explore a diverse array of specialty classes. This exploration ultimately led her to discover her interest in Marketing and Human Resources.
Career
After earning her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a major in Marketing and a minor in Human Resources, Emily felt uncertain about her future. She decided to move to Calgary, Alberta, where her unexpected journey in Information Technology began. Seizing an opportunity to work in the IT department of a large corporation, she took a leap of faith and discovered a passion for a field she had never previously considered. It was there that Emily realized she could leverage her business skills in the field of IT, focusing on process management.
After six years in Calgary, Emily returned to New Brunswick and joined Irving Oil's IT department. Today, she is the IT Production Controls Manager, responsible for the creation and fulfillment of IT processes and procedures that drive efficiency.
